Today’s Tip: Bring out the Evil

Generally, the protagonist is someone you want your readers to root for. They are the “good guys” in the story. But what happens when you’re stuck? Switching sides might help!

As you are writing, try stepping into the mind of someone evil, bringing out the dark and gruesome thoughts and deeds of this character. Some authors have found that switching sides completely allows their creative juices to flow, since it is something new and exciting. And authors everywhere know, once they feel the rhythm of the words, the story and their writing can get back on track! So switch sides for a bit, and who knows, you might even discover a new character and element for your story!
